Life in Bengaluru

As a teenager I had a crush on Rahul dravid so always wanted to meet him and to meet him i wanted to come to Banglore so very soon my wish was about to come true when our Botany teacher announced a trip to this beautiful place.but alas for some reason the trip was cancelled.......anyways got a chance to visit this garden of city when my husband got transfered from Delhi to here......i was really happy as i always wanted to visit this place(of course before marriage for some other reason.i wanted to meet my crush}
It has been 6 yaers now.and I just love this place-- lush greenery,huge trees ,food ,tradition,culture ,atmosphere...everything:)
Here i got Pencil jammers,chumma drawers .so lots of thing i got here thankyou Bangalore:)

.Delhi's India Gate is one of the heritage place in India ......I still miss this place as i spent a lot of time here having fun v my cousins .I joined my college of interior designing and had fun learning lot of things .I remember we used to go to this beautiful and historical place v our friends and  spent quality time watching children ,people,hawkers walking around.I remember how cold it is in winters and how hot n humid it is in summers,but i still enjoyed a lot doing shopping at Lajpat nagar,palika bazar,chandni chowk.......and h can i forget yummy snacks like gol -gappey,aloo chat,dahi bhalley,choley bhaturey,faluda kulfi...yummmmmmm.
I love this place but as far as safety  of women is consider this place is really not safe..that is really really sad.......I was  doing job in Delhi at a place called Vivek vihar ,my timings were from 2pm to 8pm......but had a horrific incidence one day while returning back home so decided to quit tht job which i dint want to do but because of the incidence i had to quit.
Sheila dikshit has done so much for infrastructure of this place but it is still a hub of crime against women......which is pathetic ,shameful and Sad.

Vacation at Somwarpet

Exploring Vacations

A Vacation at my Grandmas place, with my little sister, a huge house yet to finish with Searching for the unknown and old stuff,caught small fishes,from the stream across,did antique search in the attic, checked on Grand dads medals from state army then,old photographs, huge Glass Jars,Mango trees to throw stones at,a well to catch fresh water, hot sun, sometime, sudden rain at dusk,Chasing Neighbours cow grazing on our Hibiscus plants,there were no compound walls around,Pineapple plants with fruits,thorny rose plants with out flowers,running with out shoes, with out any TV shows, listening to Drama in the All India Radio, Grand dads long resting cloth recliner,waiting for some fried,baked food from grandmas Kitchen, which had no Gas stove,Tea had the flavour of firewood,a water pot ,where always water boiling,Steam cakes with papad and boiled Green grams, curd and pickles hanging in the store room ropes,sun falling through a glass tile,watching thru louvers to see who is coming, custard apple seeds thrown around,Jack fruit smells ,and we know the crow is eaten half,a huge wooden box(pathaayam) which had rice grains, and bananans kept there to ripe...2 months werent enough for all.. love in "Bhavani Ammas "wet eyes..for a journey only 6 kms away.till the next time we see...

Had a lovely Vacation...........now missing my dear ones:(

412_ Margazhi Festival

Today's topic is Margazhi Festival.

The Tamil month of 'Margazhi' (December) is a sacred month of the Hindus. In Chennai, it can rightly be denoted as the Music and Dance season. It is the time when Carnatic music concerts and Classical dance fests happen in grandeur at various Sabhas and halls of the city. 

The Margazhi festival was started way back in 1927, as an event to commemorate with the founding of Madras Music Academy in the month of December.
