A model wearing COORG style

256_Saree, Coorg Style: Little Greek Goddess

The "hands free" saree

As the legend goes, when the River Kaveri came flowing down and swerved to the right at Balamuri, the force of the water pushed the pleats of the saris of the Kodava women, who were waiting there for her(Kaveri), from the front to the rear. It is said that ever since then, in the traditional Kodava style of draping the sari, the pleats are tucked in at the waist at the back rather than in front, as is common in most parts of India.source: internet.

255_Saree: A True Classic!

Saree shopping

Every one looks beautiful in a sari!

But not men right :)
This incident happened when i was out saree shopping for the first time. The salesmen are usually men,but i was new to saree shopping,so imagine my surprise when this guy in his 20's beautifully draped the saree on himself.I could barely keep myself from laughing on his face.

Indian womens' pride

2 instead of 1!!

The Salwar Kameez clan

Salwar Kameez..

252_Salwar: Dada!

After a poor performance in IPL 2010, Sourav Ganguly wanted to head out for lunch in Kolkata, but crowds of fans were baying for his blood. So he wore a salwar-kameez, covered his face with a shawl and sat down in a bus next to a girl.

Girl: Are you Dada?

Sourav: How did you know?

Girl: Because I am Ajit Agarkar!

salwar kameez

This is my version of Salwar Kameez.. Nice subjects by Janki ;)

The safe bet,salwar kameez

When you don't want to dress up too much (saree) or too casual ( jeans) the salwar kameez comes to the rescue. Its a must have. And i love how the dupatta is so multipurpose,as a wrap, stole,or just for a little flow to the outfit.

The dilemma

252_Salwar Kameez

Today's word is Salwar Kameez.

Shalwar kameez (also spelled salwar kameez or shalwar qameez) is a traditional dress worn by both women and men in South Asia and Central Asia. Shalwar or salwar are loose pajama-like trousers. The legs are wide at the top, and narrow at the ankle. The kameez is a long shirt or tunic. The side seams (known as the chaak), left open below the waist-line, give the wearer greater freedom of movement.

The Little Black Dress

251_Little Black Dress

Today's word is Little Black Dress.

"The 'little black dress' is considered essential to a complete wardrobe by many women and fashion observers, who believe it a "rule of fashion" that every woman should own a simple, elegant black dress that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion: for example, worn with a jacket and pumps for daytime business wear or with more ornate jewelry and accessories for evening. Because it is meant to be a staple of the wardrobe for a number of years, the style of the little black dress ideally should be as simple as possible: a short black dress that is too clearly part of a trend would not qualify because it would soon appear dated."
