dik eva ambaram yasya saha Digambaraha!
With a slight abuse of the topic 'Mahavira', I am posting Bahubali from our very own Shravanabelagola. My selfish ulterior motive in this being, trying my hand at the Greeko-Indian Gandhara Style of art. The upturned lips, the stylised hair, the big ears, and yea the ajanu bahu - all have always got my attention!
So here comes Bahubali for you all :)
Well continuing the digression, it also amuses me that for someone who renounced the world (and infact for a Digambara) we do elaborate Mahamastaka-abhisheka! Luckily, this splurge is only once every 12 years. Bahu, no objections from your side ;)??
ReplyDeleteThose eyes and eyebrows are mystical! A difficult angle to sketch, well done Spoorthy.
ReplyDeleteWhatever the rituals be, this digambara certainly makes us look heaven-ward! :)
Heaven-ward...thts a whole new perspective to looking upto the huge Bahubali statue! Tx Dintoons..!
DeleteGoody! Something different and statuesque!
ReplyDeleteNo abuse by u..least compared to the mastaka abhisheka...(imho- the milk mixed/spilled in water is the biggest pollution on can do the environment..)
ReplyDeletecoming back to subject, first thing came to my mind was to do a Bahubali sketch..
loved watching this..keep it coming
Thanks Prabha and Vidhu :)
