    This doll is known as the "Chettiar Bommai" in Tamil. In the good old days we used to display this Doll along with his wife selling provisions (as displayed in the Sketch).

    Thankfully it's Chettiar Bommai and not SR Bommai... although i admit this does bear a faint resemblance to our ex-CM :P
